COVID-19 Protocols & Procedures

Our highest priority is the health and safety of our patients and the team. Our team members continue to closely monitor and adhere to all protocols and guidelines established by local and state health departments, as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We understand that healthcare has changed, and would like to take the opportunity to inform you of the extra precautionary steps we’re taking to prevent the spread of COVID-19:

It starts with a screening process following the CDC guidelines. At check-in, during patient screening we look for key symptoms associate with COVID, including:

  • In addition, we have restrictions in place for our waiting area in regards to caregivers, family members, or friends accompanying someone scheduled for a surgical procedure. They include:
  • Only one person per patient can come with a surgical patient.
  • Anyone who does accompany a patient must leave and return after discharge instructions are provided. No one can wait in the facility. You may stay in your car or go home and return.
  • All staff at Orange County Surgery Center must wear personal protective equipment for airborne pathogens. The protective equipment must follow the protocol for “Standard and transmission-based precautions” and “contact and airborne precautions.”
